XT-1 Four Months On / by Lawrence Eagling

Hello! Over the last four months I’ve been using the XT-1 with occasional referral back to my Nikon D700 for the telephoto lens; however, now I have invested in the Fuji XF 50-140 mm I am fully converted to Fuji!

I really love the lightweight body and smaller size, particularly noticeable when using the Holdfast MoneyMaker. Initially I was a little concerned about only having an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) and how to adjust to this after being used to Optical Viewfinders (OVF), as previously these were associated with a delay in refreshing the image as the camera moves. However, in my experience the XT-1 EVF is very responsive and provides an accurate view. It also has the added benefit of providing a preview of the photo exposure based on the speed and aperture you have chosen, which is particularly helpful when planning long exposure shots. The XF lenses cover a large focal range with a selection of primes or zoom lenses depending on your preference, so far I am using the XF 23 mm, 56 mm and 50-140 mm with the 1.4 teleconverter and I also have the third party manual focus Samyang 12 mm.

I have really enjoyed the portability of my new set up, which has resulted in my taking every opportunity of taking my camera system out and about! Over the last week I have been visiting family and friends in the South of England, with pictures below to showcase my travels.
